On October 24, “Fuori dall’ombra” (“Out of the Shadow”), the first solo exhibition by Maurizio Meldolesi, was inaugurated. The exhibition features 24 experimental portraits painted on canvas, created by starting with a dark brown background and adding lighter tones to build volume.

The concept originates from the emotion expressed by a viewer of Caravaggio’s “Resurrection,” seen in Naples in the Fenaroli Chapel of Sant’Anna dei Lombardi before its destruction in the earthquake of July 26, 1805: “…the main figure (Christ) seems to emerge from the painting.”

The exhibition is being held in the conference hall of the Palazzetto delle Esposizioni in Ascoli Piceno and will remain open until November 6.
