On May 31, in the Church of Santa Maria del Buon Consiglio in Ascoli Piceno, a new painting for the main altar was presented and blessed. The work was commissioned from Maurizio Meldolesi to replace the original 18th-century panel, which was unfortunately stolen and never recovered.
The piece is an oil painting on wood depicting the Madonna and Child, executed in the style of the original artwork.
The ceremony took place in a church filled with faithful and art enthusiasts and was officiated by Don Beniamino Ricciotti, who also oversaw the project in collaboration with Enzo Morganti.
