Awarding of the Institutional Prize “Picus del Ver Sacrum” 2018, 34th Edition.

The “Marchigiano dell’anno – Picus del Ver Sacrum 2018” award ceremony was held on May 30th in the Senate Chamber. This prestigious recognition is awarded annually by CeSMa – Centro Studi Marche “G. Giunchi” to individuals from the Marche region who have distinguished themselves in various fields, from science and the arts to culture and entrepreneurship.
Ten individuals from the Marche region were honored this year: Umberto Antonelli, entrepreneur from Fermo; Barbara Capponi, RAI journalist for TG1 in Pedaso (FM); Fabio Corvatta, President of the National Center for Leopardi Studies in Macerata; Eugenio De Signoribus, poet from Ascoli Piceno; Mario Giannola, lawyer from the province of Pesaro-Urbino; Giada Illuminati, entrepreneur from Fermo; Maurizio Meldolesi, painter from Macerata; Massimo Rogante, a nuclear engineer from Macerata, and Loris Tartuferi, Founder and Honorary President of Banca Macerata.
The “Marchigiano nel Mondo” award was also presented to sculptor Dinonisio Cimarelli, a native of Jesi and professor at the New York Academy of Art.
The awards ceremony was attended by Professor Giuseppe Luzi, Honorary President of CeSMa, and journalist Rosanna Vaudetti. The evening was organized by CeSMa Director Pina Gentili and sponsored by the Senate of the Republic, the Marche Region, and the Pio Sodalizio dei Piceni.
